The most commonly used thicknesses for wall thermal panels are 50 mm, 60 mm, 80 mm and 100 mm. The most commonly used thicknesses for roof panels are 60 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm and 120 mm. The building’s intended use is decisive for choosing the right panel thickness. A smaller thickness means lower investment costs, but on the other hand this would lead to higher operating costs if the premises are heated and/or cooled, and vice versa. With a thicker wall and roof thermal panel, you will invest a larger amount initially, but afterwards you will have lower heating and cooling operating costs.
Recommended wall panel / roof panel combinations
When the metal hall is used as a warehouse for storing goods that do not require a maintained temperature, the thinnest panels can be installed
- wall panels – 30 mm or 40 mm
- roof panels – 30 mm or 40 mm
When the metal hall is used as a warehouse for storing goods that require a maintained temperature in summer and winter, it is advisable to install panels with a greater thickness
- wall panels – 50 mm or 60 mm
- roof panels – 60 mm or 80 mm
When the metal hall is used as a work space with additional heating and/or cooling, it is advisable to choose panels with a greater thickness. The greater thickness means a higher initial investment but subsequently leads to lower operating costs.

When the metal hall is used as a work space with additional heating and/or cooling where many people work, or is used as a warehouse for storing materials with high requirements for maintaining a certain temperature year-round, it is advisable to choose panels with the greatest thickness
